Keeping Jazz Alive!

 

Founder, Edwin Williams, an accomplished bassist, is no stranger to the Atlanta music scene. He was featured bassist for over twenty years with the John Robertson Trio at the world renowned, Dante’s Down the Hatch jazz club in Atlanta, Georgia and has performed nationally and internationally with major jazz and R&B artists.  He has also performed with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's in its annual "Soulful Christmas" production. In April, 2015, Edwin released his first solo project “Chill With Me."

For the past several years, he has produced jazz events, such as, the annual summer concert series, Experiencing Jazz Series: Jazz Matters at the Wren's Nest; A Soulful Sunday and Sunday Live! A Jazz Experience; Soulful Sunday Jazz for various art centers in the Atlanta metro area featuring over 70 performing artists and students from Atlanta, Marietta and Perry, GA performing arts programs.

Edwin's desire to keep jazz alive, led him to establish Jazz Matters, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Jazz Matters, Inc., mission is to Preserve a Musical Culture, Tradition, Art Form.
